Kylie's much anticipated Showgirl tour was cut short abruptly in May 2006 with the announcement that the singer was suffering from breast cancer. From the start, however, the petite blonde made it clear she intended to return, with a clock posted on her website counting down the seconds to a stage comeback. And on November 11 the determined 38-year-old picks up where she left off with the launch of a revamped 'Showgirl Homecoming' tour in Sydney.
"It won't necessarily be bigger," says the Melbourne-native. "It's just going to be evolved. If 'Showgirl' was a teenager, 'Homecoming' is a lady." Featuring new costumes by Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano, Chanel and Matthew Williamson, the revised format clearly has Kylie excited. Her enthusiasm for being back at work doesn't mean she's lost sight of her new priorities, however. "The motto for this tour is, 'We're over stress'," she emphasises.
