Veteran actor Roger Moore has put his eldest son forward to take up the 007 mantle when Pierce Brosnan relinqishes the Bond role.

It might be a little early to start serving the martinis, but Roger, who played the British superspy in a total of seven movies, insists his handsome offspring, Geoffrey, has the right stuff, despite a lack of acting experience. Geoffrey, who owns the successful plush London eatery Hush, has made only five forays into acting, with limited success.

The 74-year-old veteran British actor first suggested his son for the role to late Bond producer Cubby Broccoli, ten years ago. “I think Geoffrey has the necessary charm, wit and sophistication to be 007,” he says. “He is much better looking than me and much more talented, so I think he would be perfect for the role. Maybe he could even incorporate a bit of the cooking into the role.”

Roger is currently filming Boat Trip with Cuba Gooding Jnr, in which he plays a gay ex-army man. The movie is due for release later this year.
